What AI gets wrong about your marketing strategy
Smart marketers don’t blindly follow strategies created by AI.
Ask ChatGPT for a marketing strategy and you’ll very likely get something that sounds good.
It’ll be well-structured. Buzzword-heavy. Kinda impressive.
But when you actually try to use it, it’s generic, vague, and completely disconnected from what you’re actually trying to do.
That’s where most people go wrong.
They treat AI like the strategist. When really, it’s your strategy partner.
Here’s how to use it right:
Start with your thoughts.
What are you trying to achieve? What ideas are already floating around? What’s worked before? What hasn’t?
Then give that to ChatGPT and use this prompt:
You are a senior marketing strategist. Based on the info below, create a clear, realistic marketing strategy tailored to my product, audience, and goals.
Highlight any gaps or assumptions in my thinking. Push back if something doesn’t make sense.
– Goal: [INSERT GOAL]
– Audience: [INSERT AUDIENCE]
– Existing ideas/notes: [INSERT BRAINDUMP]
This isn’t about getting a perfect strategy in one go.
It’s about starting with something real and using AI to make it better.
Happy prompting!
