A headline doesn’t just describe the content. It decides what the reader notices first: the problem, the outcome, the insight, the tension, or the practical value. The first version you write might be perfectly fine, but it may not be the strongest way to frame the idea.

ChatGPT can help you explore those different angles quickly.

Instead of generating ten slightly different versions of the same sentence, ask it to approach the headline from ten genuinely different directions. That gives you a useful set of options to compare and often reveals a stronger angle for the content itself.

Try this prompt:

You are a copywriter and creative strategist. Help me explore different headline angles for this piece of content.

What the content is about: [Brief description]
My audience: [Who they are and what they care about]
The action I want them to take: [Read, click, sign up, share, etc.]

Write 10 meaningfully different headlines. Explore a mix of direct, outcome-led, problem-led, curiosity-driven, contrarian, practical, specific, and insight-led angles.

Avoid minor rewrites of the same headline. Each option should lead with a different reason to care.

Then identify the three strongest options. For each one, explain what it emphasizes, why it may appeal to the audience, and any weakness or tradeoff I should consider.

Don’t just ask ChatGPT for more headlines. Use it to find a better angle.

Happy prompting!
