Use ChatGPT to think through a major decision like a board would
Smart marketers don't make big calls based on gut alone. They use AI to pressure-test the decision before they commit.
A good board doesn't tell you what to decide. It asks the questions you haven't thought to ask yourself, until the right answer becomes clearer.
Try this prompt:
You are a board-level advisor. I have a major decision to make and I want you to pressure-test my thinking before I commit.
The decision: [what you're deciding]
My current leaning: [which way you're thinking and why]
What's at stake: [resources, relationships, risk, opportunity cost]
What I'm most uncertain about: [where your confidence is lowest]
Do three things:
1. Ask me the five questions a good board would ask before signing off
2. Make the strongest possible case against my current leaning
3. Identify the one assumption I'm making that, if wrong, would change everythingThe goal isn't to be talked out of it. It's to make sure you've thought it all the way through.
Happy prompting!
