Most pre-launch reviews focus on completeness. Is the landing page live? Is the copy approved? Are the emails scheduled? Is tracking set up?

That's important, but it only tells you whether the work is finished.

It doesn't tell you whether customers will understand the offer, whether sales can confidently explain it, whether your claims hold up, or whether the campaign is built on assumptions nobody has challenged.

Before you launch, use ChatGPT to run a challenge session from the perspectives most likely to expose those weak points.

Try this prompt:

You are leading a pre-launch challenge session for a marketing campaign. Your job is to pressure-test the campaign before it goes live, not simply check whether the deliverables are complete.

CAMPAIGN:
[PASTE YOUR LAUNCH PLAN, BRIEF, OR CAMPAIGN DETAILS]

CONTEXT:
- Target audience: [WHO WE'RE TRYING TO REACH]
- Offer: [WHAT WE'RE PROMOTING]
- Key messaging: [CORE MESSAGE, CLAIMS, AND VALUE PROPOSITION]
- Channels/assets: [WHAT IS BEING LAUNCHED]
- Goal: [WHAT THE CAMPAIGN NEEDS TO ACHIEVE]
- Known constraints: [BUDGET, TIMING, BRAND, LEGAL, ETC.]
- Supporting evidence/research: [PASTE ANY RELEVANT DATA, RESEARCH, OR CUSTOMER INSIGHTS]

Review the campaign from these perspectives:
1. A skeptical target customer
2. A sales or customer-facing team member
3. A senior stakeholder
4. A brand or legal reviewer
5. A performance marketer responsible for results

For each meaningful issue you uncover, return:
- Perspective
- Challenge or concern
- Why it matters
- Classification: valid risk / question to investigate / not material
- Evidence needed to resolve it
- Recommended action
- Suggested owner
- Urgency: before launch / soon after launch / monitor

Finish with a separate section called LAUNCH BLOCKERS.

Only include issues that could reasonably justify delaying or changing the launch. Explain exactly what needs to be resolved before proceeding.

Don't manufacture criticism for the sake of filling every perspective. Base your assessment on the campaign information provided, clearly distinguish evidence from assumptions, and flag anything that requires further investigation.

A launch checklist tells you whether the work is ready. A challenge session tells you whether the campaign is.

Happy prompting!

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
