A weekly review can easily become a tour of the dashboard. Traffic went up, email clicks went down, and someone promises to investigate. Twenty minutes later, the team knows the numbers but has no clearer plan.
The meeting gets more useful when every metric is tied to a goal and a possible action. A jump in leads matters differently if lead quality fell. A dip in traffic may matter less if qualified inquiries rose. ChatGPT can organize those signals from a metrics paste, but the team still has to check the data and decide what to do.
Ask the same five questions each week:
What changed against our goal and last week?
Which channel, campaign, or audience drove the change?
Did the quality of the result change, or only the volume?
What did we learn, and what remains uncertain?
What one action will we take next, and who owns it?
Give the first five minutes to checking the numbers, ten to discussing the likely drivers and gaps, and five to choosing an action. If the data cannot answer a question, record the missing evidence instead of filling the gap with a confident story.
Paste your weekly metrics into ChatGPT with this prompt before the meeting:
Help me prepare a 20-minute weekly marketing review.
Our marketing goal is: [goal].
The decision we need to make this week is: [decision, if known].
Here are this week's metrics, last week's metrics, and any targets or notes I have:
[paste metrics]
Answer these five questions:
1. What changed against our goal and last week?
2. Which channel, campaign, or audience appears to have driven the change?
3. Did result quality change, or only volume?
4. What can we reasonably learn, and what is still uncertain?
5. What is one sensible action to discuss for next week?
Calculate changes where the figures allow. Separate observations from possible explanations. Do not assume a metric change proves its cause. Flag missing, inconsistent, or noncomparable data. Finish with a short meeting agenda and a decision record with spaces for the action, owner, and review date.
Happy prompting!
