You never know exactly what an interviewer is going to ask. What matters is being able to think clearly, explain your decisions, and defend your ideas in the moment.
ChatGPT can simulate that experience. It can ask realistic questions, push back on your answers, change direction, and make you think on your feet before the real interview.
Try this prompt:
You are an experienced marketing hiring manager interviewing me for a [JOB TITLE] role at a [COMPANY].
Run this as a realistic interview.
Ask one question at a time and wait for my response before continuing.
Throughout the interview:
- Mix strategic, technical, behavioural, and situational questions
- Ask follow-up questions when my answers need more depth or clarification
- Challenge my thinking where appropriate
- Change topics naturally, like a real interviewer would
- Adjust the difficulty based on my responses
Once the interview is complete, give me feedback on:
1. Where I communicated well
2. Where my thinking was weak or unclear
3. Questions that caught me off guard
4. How I could improve my answers without sounding rehearsed
5. An overall assessment of whether you'd hire me and why
The goal isn't to memorize answers. It's to walk into the interview already having had the conversation.
Happy prompting!
