Not every task should become an AI workflow. The best candidates usually happen often, begin with similar inputs and produce an output you can assess against a consistent standard. They may be boring, sit outside your strongest skill set or take time without needing your specific judgment.
If the process changes every time or only exists in someone’s head, document it first. Then test the task with AI manually. Review the failures, tighten the instructions and repeat it with different inputs until the result is dependable. Only then should you automate it or share it with the team.
Try this prompt:
Help me identify which parts of my marketing work should become AI-assisted workflows.
My recurring tasks and processes: [list them]
Score each one from 1 to 5 on:
- frequency;
- time required;
- clarity of inputs;
- consistency of the process;
- clarity of a good output;
- amount of human judgment required;
- cost of an error.
Recommend the three strongest workflow candidates. For each one, explain:
1. Why it is suitable.
2. What should remain under human control.
3. What instructions or SOPs are missing.
4. How to test it manually before systemizing it.
5. The checks needed before anyone relies on the output.
Do not recommend automating high-risk work simply because it is repetitive.
A workflow is ready when the process is understood and the output is repeatable, not when the first test happens to work.
Happy prompting!
