A post takes off. Shares spike, comments roll in, and the numbers look great. Then you move on and quietly hope the next one does the same.
It doesn't have to be that way. Paste your best-performing piece into ChatGPT alongside some basic performance context, and you can pull out exactly what made it land.
Try this prompt:
You are a content strategist. I'm going to share a piece of content that performed well, along with some context on how it did.
Content: [paste your post, article, or email here]
Performance context: [e.g. highest open rate this year, 3x usual engagement, went semi-viral on LinkedIn]
Audience: [brief description]
Analyse why this worked. Look at the hook, structure, tone, topic angle, and anything else that stands out. Be specific — I want to understand the patterns, not just the praise. Then tell me how to apply each lesson to future content.
Follow up with:
Based on your analysis, give me 3 content ideas that use the same formula — same structure and tone, different topic.
Happy prompting!
