The first draft used to be the bottleneck. Now you can generate ten campaign concepts, five landing-page angles, or a full content plan before your coffee gets cold.
That does not make the strategic part easier. It makes it easier to settle too quickly.
The real work is choosing a direction: deciding who it is for, what problem it solves, what you are giving up, and whether it fits the business you actually have.
Don’t ask ChatGPT for a pile of slight variations on the same safe idea. Ask it to create genuinely different routes, then make the trade-offs visible.
Try this prompt:
You are a senior marketing strategist. Help me evaluate three genuinely different strategic approaches to this marketing challenge.
Marketing challenge:
[DESCRIBE THE GOAL OR PROBLEM]
Business context:
- Audience: [DESCRIBE]
- Offer: [DESCRIBE]
- Goal: [DESCRIBE]
- Constraints: [BUDGET, TEAM, TIMELINE, CHANNELS, BRAND RULES]
- Any relevant research or data: [PASTE HERE]
Create three distinct approaches. Do not give me minor variations of the same idea.
For each approach, include:
- Central idea and strategic logic
- Best-fit audience and the problem it solves
- Key messages and campaign angle
- Upside, downside, risks, and assumptions
- Resources required
- What would need to be true for it to work
- Evidence or information we need before choosing it
Then compare the three approaches in a table. Recommend the best fit for my stated constraints, but clearly explain the trade-offs involved.
AI can give you more options. It cannot make the decision for you.
Happy prompting!
The best influencer marketing advice never comes from a report
Think about the last thing that got you fired up about your job this year. Odds are it didn't come from a report. It came from someone who does the job, saying what happened when they tried it.
So we've filled a day with people like that.
Maya Shaff, ŌURA. Leah Walker, Adobe. Georgia Humphries, Stanley 1913. Enara Roy, Halfday. Tyler Vaught, Edelman. Josh Rangel, Ogilvy. Sarah Whittle, ex-Crocs and Duolingo.
And that's just the first wave of speakers.
Return on Influence Festival '26 is a free, virtual day dedicated to influencer marketing. Like any good festival, there are stages. But no mud, no queues, and absolutely no porta-potties.
Sign up today, and the rest of the lineup lands in your inbox first.
