A clever prompt cannot make up for an empty brief. If ChatGPT does not know your audience, offer, positioning, proof, competitors, priorities, and brand rules, it fills the gaps with generic patterns.
That’s where most of the “AI slop” comes from. Not necessarily bad prompts, but AI being asked to create something specific without enough specific information to work from.
The problem is that providing meaningful context can feel like a massive chore, especially when you are trying to move quickly.
Instead of retyping it every time, build one core context pack, keep it updated, and reuse it across your work. Better context creates better output long before a clever prompt does.
Try this prompt:
You are a senior marketing strategist. Help me create a reusable marketing context pack for my business.
Ask me focused follow-up questions only where information is missing or unclear. Then turn my answers into a clear, concise reference document with these sections:
1. Audience and offer
- Ideal customer, problems, priorities, and buying triggers
- Our offer, outcomes, and key differentiators
2. Positioning and proof
- Positioning, key messages, competitors, and proof points
- Claims we can and cannot make
3. Working rules
- Brand voice and writing rules
- Current priorities, constraints, and non-negotiables
Use plain language. Flag gaps, assumptions, and anything that needs evidence.
Format it so I can paste it into future chats or save it as a reusable project file.
Happy prompting!
