ChatGPT isn’t great at writing long content in one go.
It either loses focus, starts repeating itself, or delivers something that sounds like a bad Wikipedia entry.
The best way to fix this is to break it down.
Start with an outline. Then write one section at a time.
Step 1 – Create your outline
Start a new chat and drop in your topic or rough notes.
Use this prompt:
You are a content strategist. Based on the topic below, create a clear outline for a long-form article.
Include section headings and 1–2 bullet points per section.
Topic:
[INSERT TOPIC OR NOTES]
Step 2 – Write each section
Once you’re happy with the outline, write each section one at a time using this prompt:
Write the [SECTION TITLE] section of a long-form article.
Use a clear, helpful, and conversational tone. Expand on these points:
– [INSERT BULLETS]
Aim for 2–4 paragraphs.
Repeat this until the piece is done.
Better structure. Better flow. Better content.
Happy prompting!
