Use AI to revive old content with a twist

Smart marketers don’t waste content.

You’ve already got a backlog of content.

Some did well. Some flopped.

Either way, it’s all potential fuel.

With ChatGPT, you can review your top (and bottom) performers, spot patterns, and generate new content that builds on what you’ve already done.

Here’s how:

Step 1 - Review what worked and what didn’t

Start by grabbing a few recent posts with performance data. Include both hits and misses.

Use this prompt:

You are a content strategist.
Analyse the content performance below.
For high-performing posts: suggest spin-off ideas, angles, or remixes to build on what worked.
For low-performing posts: suggest why they may have underperformed and how we could rework or improve them.

Include a short explanation for each idea.

Post 1
Content: [paste it here]
Performance: [e.g. Views, Likes, Comments]

Post 2
Content: [paste it here]
Performance: [e.g. Views, Likes, Comments]

[continue with as many posts as you’d like]

Step 2 - Create the remixed content

Once you’ve picked an idea to run with, use this prompt to turn it into something fresh:

Write a new [format – e.g. LinkedIn post, blog, email] based on this idea: [insert idea]
Keep the tone [insert tone].
Make sure it has a strong hook and clear structure.

You don’t need to start from scratch when you’ve already got a content archive.

Happy prompting!
